How to Donate
Your donations are what make this effort work. Without them, we’d have no way to earn money to give to animal charities. Not all donations are workable though.
Please be sure to take the time to read our guidelines below and follow the procedures to help us keep the process manageable.

When Donating, ask yourself:
- Would I buy this in its current condition?
- Does this item still have plenty of life left in it for someone else?
- Is it free from stains and tears and is it safe?
- Does this item smell clean (free from pet urine, moth balls or smoke odors)?
- Is the item fully functional, not broken and includes all pieces it came with?
- Did I check it against Fetch’s list of items they don’t accept (below)?
If you answered “Yes” to all the questions above, we’d love to have your donation!

Furniture such as dressers, book cases, coffee and end tables, media stands, chairs and kitchen/dining room tables. If your item is LARGE, please email a photo of the item for us to approve at hello@fetchthrift.com before dropping off to make sure we have space.

Items We Can’t Accept
(due to health concerns, regulations and space constraints)
- Mattresses
- Baby equipment such as car seats and highchairs due to changing safety regulations and recall
- Faded, Ripped, Stained clothing or furniture of any type
- Hangers (We do not need hangers)
- Medical and mobility equipment such as a walkers and portable toilet seats
- TVs that are not flat-screen
- Items that are not functional or are missing important parts.
- Toxic materials and already opened paint cans.
- Anything moldy or mildewed
How to Donate
Pack Your Donations – Make sure all textiles (clothing, fabric, etc) have been washed.
Clothing and other soft items should be put in trash bags and tied off so they don’t spill out in the donation room.
Put “like” items together in the same container if possible – clothing in one bag, housewares in another, etc.
Frederick Location:
Donations are to be dropped off during business hours in the back of the building. Please ring the bell located next to the back door for assistance and we will have an attendant help with the process. Donation receipts will be provided upon request. Large furniture items must be approved before drop off by sending a photo to our email or texting. See contact info.
Quarantine yourself and your items if you have a fever or have recently been diagnosed with Covid-19. Stay home if you are feeling ill.
